So apparently the best I can do is a two month recap.

We froze our butts off on Easter but had an otherwise good day    100_2700_6

100_2790 Chloe, Madi and Zach started soccer.  Here is a great picture of Chloe getting scored on.   100_2792

We had Zach's 6th birthday yesterday, check out his birthday wish after his sisters blow out his candles for him, I love it!

So far in 2007

So I am apparently not much of a blogger.  Lots going on around here so far.  The snow finally melted and it is warm and sunny out, yeah.  Tommy moved out and is back in California, good for him but we miss him a bunch.  Chloe turned 8 and we went to the Brookfield Zoo and dinner downtown Chicago.   100_2263

Waiting for a table we are kinda cold tiered and hungry (not the best pic but at least most of the family is in this one).

Madi turned 9 and we celebrated at Mega Play and then got Mexican food for dinner (hence the sombrero)...100_2610

Josh turned 30 and I surprised him by sneaking his mom out which was really fun.  We had a good time with her and he was really happy.  I am glad that I pulled it off I thought for sure he would figure it out before she got here.  I also got him (regrettably) and xbox 360 so he was stoked.  100_2447_2

Krysten and Jonathan came out and visited.  We had fun just hanging out w/them dragging them around in the snow.  The girls went shopping one day while the boys played with the rocket launcher.  Fun stuff.  Here is a picture of my first niece due in July.  Charlotte Steele (at 16 weeks).  Baby_steele_16_weeks_3

A couple of weeks ago Josh and I ditched the crew and we hooked up with our long lost friends Shane and Brandi in Vegas.  We had so much fun it was a really good trip.  Josh also surprised me one night and we drove down to Riverside and met up w/friends and family for dinner.  I got to see some of my best friends, their kids and my cousins who are all like my favorite people in the world.  That was so the best surprise (big points in the love bank for my husband) and lots of fun.  If I had know that I was coming then I would have called more people but I will be back out in June for my cousin's wedding and I am planning to spend awhile so I can hit Sandals and catch up with everyone that I am missing.  Thanks to my cousins who drove up to crappy Riverside and braved the 55 traffic just to see me, I felt very special.  My favorite Vegas picture, I totally think it should be used on one of those ad billboards for the famous what happens in vegas stays in vegas slogan.  I told them to do this and I love the look on the ladies faces in the foreground.  Booze tattoos and love.   100_2533_6

And Krysten and I in Vegas...Me_and_krys_in_vegas_07_3

So far a great 2007.  I will try to blog more often now that I know that people are actually looking and reading.  Stay tuned next week for soccer and spring break.

Gina

Gina is the first friend that I made when I moved to Indiana.  We had a ton of fun together and became very close.  Gina and I both have very different and busy lives so I started missing her before she even moved.  She is the type of friend that would do anything for you.  Gina is awesome because she has a huge heart and then on the other hand has the most severe case of road rage that I have ever seen in real life, I love driving with her the things she says are hillarious.  She moved last week to New Jersey and I have been thinking about her all week so here's to Gina, an awesome friend.  I miss and love you.

Tis the season

What is it all about?  I have for the last three years been scaling back on presents, trying not to let the month fly by and suck our bank account dry and forget to focus on what is was really all about anyway.  We are getting closer but still not quite where we want to be.  Anyway, we have an older couple next door who are always wonderful to us, they buy little toys for the kids, talk to us and even our dogs all of the time, they help us fix things or at least offer to.  They are great.  So all I did was bake them some cookies for Christmas and I got the nicest thank you note and card from them, I just wanted to share it.  Note_from_neighbor_001 You can click on it to make it large enough to read.  Anyway, they helped inspire me to not only think of including people in our thoughts and lives at Christmas time, but all year.  Our lives are so full, Josh and I seem to have no time for anyone else besides our kids and each other, but little things can be big to others.

Typical Chloe

100_2080_1

A couple of days ago we had seven kids running around here playing.  Two of them got "hurt" so I had them in the kitchen with me as I listened to their cried and assessed their wounds (they were fine) but Chloe stops playing and comes in and gives them love and not only does she sweetly make them ice packs and give them band aids, she also then proceeds to refill the ice cube trays and put them back in the freezer.  I love that girl.

Chloe's birthday was yesterday she is now 8 years old, I don't know where the time goes, when Josh and I first started talking she was 4.  Chloe has such a huge heart, she is the little mommy of the family and definitely the most loving sibling.  The girl is amazing and I am so blessed to be her "other mom".

I am officially an AUNTIE now!!

My sister is pregnant, that's right.  I am sooo excited.  I am a little sad that I am so far away but I knew that this would happen so it's okay.  I am just going to be sending presents all of the time and spoiling the baby so that he/she (I am dying to know already) will know who I am even though we are so far away.  Anyway, Krysten is due in July so be on the lookout for her growing belly.  And you know her, she is going to rock this pregnancy and be dressing all cute and looking gorgeous.  Brat.  Anyway, Krysten and Jonathan are going to be the best parents and I couldn't be happier!  Check out this message that Brook and Zach made for them...(I love what Zach says).

Thank God I am not Martha Stewart

So every year I never seem to get my Christmas decorations the way that I want them.  I cannot achieve the perfect vision that I have in my head.  I was disturbed about this the other day.  Then when I was cleaning yesterday I am going through the house noticing most of my decorations are things that my kids spent time on at their little desks, made with their own little hands and proudly presented to me.  I LOVE paper plate wreaths and white paper cut out snowflakes.  That stuff is the best.  Then it hit me, I am so glad that I am not Martha Stewart.  Thank you Lord.

It's a Rruuff day

Let me start off by saying that it is snowing and my furnace broke and will not be fixed until tonight so it is 18 degrees, might be a contributing factor to the way that I am feeling.

Anyhow, I have this quagmire where I am happy with my life, with my family, very happy actually.  And then, I can't get over all of my friends and my family friend types like my sister and my cousins being 1800 miles away from me.  I have made a couple good friends out here.  But I moved away from the most awesome women (some of you read this and you are definitely included in this group) and it changed my life.  I'm struggling with some things right now and feel so far away from my support.

I have lost my fire.  I guess I should have seen it coming.  I love my church and just can't seem to connect with any of the women there, I know there have got to be some that I can I guess I just have to put myself out there more.  I am surprised at how much stronger my walk can be with all of you behind me and hanging out with me, etc.  Keep me accountable, ask me if I tried to hook up with some small group or something because I have got to make some changes here.

This is getting so sappy but I might feel better once I get it out there in the world rather than in my head (which can sometimes be a dark and twisty place : )).  So to the many awesome ladies out there that I have been blessed to call friends, know that I love and miss you and appreciate you and that if I don't call or even leave a comment on your blog I am here but there is not more than a couple seconds that go by in my day where I am not completely interrupted and redirected.  Mamas you feel me.

We're just a wrecking crew, ball busted NOTHING to do!

I really have nothing to blog about.  Spent the last four days home w/the kids.  Thanksgiving was very nice.  But every five minutes someone would find me and let me know that they were bored.  It is so annoying, we had friends over, they have a trampoline, the woods, a swing set, a go kart, bikes, video games, movies, toys, games, books, a closet full of art supplies, and they are bored?  I am doing something wrong here.  Here is a picture of me and the crew apple picking in September (which has nothing to do w/this blog but whatever, I will take some pics soon)...
